On October 22d, 2008 the fourth graders from Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School visited the Concord Coach Society’s Museum. The 125 children were greeted by members of the society dressed in period costume. A short demonstration of driving a 6 horse team using some of the children as fill-ins for the horses was followed by a talk and demonstration about the Concord Coaches given by Ken Wheeling, assisted by Peter James. Pat Maimone gave roping demonstrations and instructions to the children. This was done as part of the New Hampshire History program taught in the schools.
At the end of the slide show are some of the letters that we received from the teacher and the children. These tributes really made the effort seem worth it.
